The Artisanal Sea Salt and Flor de Sal jars together on the salt pans

01 · Which salt, what for

One for cooking. One for finishing.

This is the whole idea of the Duo: one salt for cooking, one for finishing. The everyday grain you reach for at the stove, and the delicate crust you scatter at the table.

Artisanal Sea Salt

The everyday grain, slow-crystallised and raked by hand from the pans. Dissolves clean into whatever you are cooking.

Best forSeasoning as you cook, pasta water, roasting, baking.

Flor de Sal

The delicate crust skimmed from the surface of the water. Crisp flakes that hold their shape and crunch.

Best forThe final pinch before serving, tomatoes, eggs, chocolate, meat off the heat.

02 · Why it is worth it

Two salts one for the pan, one for the plate

The same hand-harvested Atlantic salt in two forms: the coarse grain that seasons as you cook, and the delicate flor de sal that finishes at the table. Bought together, they cover everything and cost three pounds less than the two jars apart.

Natural

Evaporated by sun and wind. Nothing forced.

Nothing added

No anti-caking agents. No additives of any kind.

Mineral-rich

Magnesium, calcium and the trace minerals of the sea.

What you'll notice

Two crystals, one craft.

The two jars look different for a reason. Flor de sal is the fine, delicate crust skimmed from the surface of the pan the day it forms. The everyday sea salt is the coarser, more robust crystal harvested from the pan after about a week of slow evaporation, raked by hand. From the same Atlantic water, gathered at two different moments: one to cook with, one to finish with.

Frequently asked questions

Which salt do I use for what?

The Artisanal Sea Salt (275g) is your everyday cooking salt: seasoning as you go, pasta water, roasting, baking. The Flor de Sal (125g) is your finishing salt: a delicate pinch over the finished dish, just before serving. Between them they take you from the pan to the plate.

What is in the Salty Duo?

One 275g jar of Artisanal Sea Salt for everyday cooking, and one 125g jar of Flor de Sal for finishing, for three pounds less than buying the two jars separately.

Does it make a good gift?

It does. The two jars together tell the whole story of the salt, from the everyday grain to the delicate finishing crust, which makes the Duo a natural gift for anyone who loves to cook.

How should I store them?

Store both jars in a cool dry place, ideally within easy reach for great cooking and baking.

Why do the two salts look so different?

Because they are gathered at different moments. Flor de sal is the fine crust skimmed from the surface of the pan the day it forms. The everyday sea salt is the coarser crystal harvested from the pan after about a week of slow evaporation. Same Atlantic water, two textures: one to cook with, one to finish with.

The craft

Raked by hand, dried by the sun.

Atlantic water is drawn into shallow pans and left to the sun. Harvested by hand each week, the crystals form slowly as the salt is raked, day after day. No machines, no heat, no shortcuts.

At the table
