Our Mission
“I hold the fondest memories of visiting my grandfather at the salt farms: hot summers with clear skies, big family gatherings and delicious food.”
We’re here to revive a craft that almost disappeared.
The salt pans of Figueira da Foz were once full of life — more than 150 salt farmers working across the region, each following the same seasonal rhythm. Today, there are fewer than 15.
Despite the quality of the salt, many producers have been unable to continue. The income is seasonal, the physical work demanding, and the traditional methods are often overlooked in favour of faster, more industrial processes.
