The salt
Every grain is hand-harvested in Figueira da Foz, on the Atlantic coast of Portugal, where salt has been made the same way for centuries.
The Artisanal Sea Salt (275g) is your everyday cooking salt: robust crystals that season deeply. Flor de Sal (125g) is the delicate finishing crust, hand-skimmed from the surface of the pans, for the last pinch before serving.
No. Silva Salt is unrefined and hand-harvested, with no additives, no anticaking agents and no bleaching. Just salt and the sea it came from.
Because it is made by hand, slowly. Atlantic water is drawn into shallow pans and left to the sun; the pans are raked by hand every day, and the salt is gathered about a week later. No machines, no heat, no shortcuts.
Using & storing
Keep it somewhere cool and dry with the lid closed. Natural sea salt does not spoil, so there is no rush to use it up.
Cook with the Artisanal Sea Salt: in the pan, the pot, the roasting tray. Reach for Flor de Sal at the very end, sprinkled over a finished dish, where its flakes stay crisp and melt on the tongue.
